Orange Belt. Master Ground Double Touches.
Learn to create a useful rebound from the ground, stay connected to the play and arrive early for the controlled second touch.
The Orange Belt is the eighth Air Belt and the final mechanical Belt before the Black Belt test. After learning aerial finishing and team redirects, this lesson teaches you to manufacture the rebound from a grounded shot and capitalise on what follows.
Shoot With The Follow-Up Already In Mind.
A ground double touch begins with a shot designed to create an awkward save or readable rebound. The value comes from staying connected and arriving before the defence can reset.
This is not simply an aerial follow-up. It is forcing an awkward save and preparing for what comes next.
Create The Rebound Intentionally
Choose shot placement and pace that are likely to produce a followable save rather than firing without considering the return.
Stay Connected To The Play
Continue through the shot in a position that keeps the rebound available instead of turning away immediately.
Choose The Correct Finish
Take the planned second touch when it is valuable, but remain ready to wait and collect the easier finish when the defence gives it to you.
Start The Orange Belt.
Watch the complete lesson first, then use the training pack to focus on shot placement, rebound prediction and the path into the follow-up.
Good Attackers Do Not Admire The Shot. They Follow It.
Scoring chances disappear when players shoot without a rebound plan, rotate out immediately or assume the attack ends after the first contact.
More Goals Against Active Defenders
A shot that forces an awkward save can create a second chance before the defender regains control.
Better Pressure After Shots
Staying connected keeps the attack alive and prevents the defence from collecting the rebound uncontested.
Stronger Solo Offence
Planning the rebound gives you another scoring route without relying on a teammate to collect every save.
Higher Rebound Conversion
Reading likely save directions allows you to arrive earlier and meet the second ball with more control.
You do not score by leaving early. You score by being there again.
Five Mistakes That Kill The Rebound Play.
Ground double touches feel rare or forced when the first shot has no purpose, the player leaves too early or the second touch is attempted even when the simpler finish is available.
Shooting Without Considering The Save
A random first shot can create a rebound that moves away from your path or directly into the defender’s possession.
Attempting The Double Touch Every Time
When the rebound creates an easy open finish, waiting and taking the simple goal is better than forcing the second aerial contact.
Turning Away After The Shot
Leaving immediately removes your chance to collect the save and can surrender pressure without necessity.
Reading The Rebound After It Happens
Waiting for the full bounce to develop gives the defence time to recover and makes the follow-up rushed.
Treating Rebounds As Random
Shot location, pace, goalkeeper position and backboard angle all provide information about where the next ball is likely to appear.
Build The Second Chance Into The First Shot.
The objective is not simply to touch the ball twice. It is to produce a useful rebound, preserve the correct path and choose the best finish once the save develops.
