The Silver Belt. Master Shadow Defence.
Learn to stay goal-side, match the attacker’s speed and defend without panicking, diving or handing away free goals.
The Silver Belt is the foundation of defensive control. It teaches you to stay connected to the play until the moment is genuinely right to act.
Defence Without Losing Structure.
Shadowing is the skill of tracking an attacker from goal-side while keeping enough distance to react. You are not waiting passively. You are controlling what the attacker is allowed to do.
This is not about challenging early. It is about staying connected to the play until the moment is right.
Stay Goal-Side
Keep your car between the attacker and your goal so one touch does not remove you from the play.
Match The Play
Adjust your speed and spacing instead of rushing into a challenge the attacker can easily avoid.
Force The Mistake
Remove the easy option and make the opponent attempt a more predictable, lower-percentage play.

Patient Defence Creates Better Outcomes.
Many players treat defence as a race to challenge. The Silver Belt replaces that guessing game with controlled positioning.
Fewer Free Goals
Goal-side positioning prevents one rushed decision from removing the final defender.
Cleaner Challenges
Delaying the play creates clearer moments to tackle, block or take a controlled 50/50.
Stronger Counters
Staying connected means you are more likely to recover possession instead of merely surviving the attack.
Calmer Decisions
You learn to read the attacker rather than panic simply because they have space.
Good defence does not need to look flashy. It needs to look patient and effective.
Four Mistakes That Break The Shadow.
Shadow defence feels ineffective when the position is lost before the attacker is forced to make a decision.
Closing The Gap Too Early
The attacker can flick, cut or accelerate past you before you have enough time to react.
Turning Sideways
Side-on positioning can remove goal coverage and make the next movement slow or awkward.
Diving Without Support
A challenge is not automatically correct merely because the attacker has entered your half.
Treating Defence As Challenge Only
Delays, blocks, controlled 50/50s and forced touches are all valid defensive outcomes.
Train The Position, Not Just The Save.
The aim is not simply to complete each shot. The aim is to repeat the spacing and movement that make the save controlled.
